The Weaver's Web

Just an old liberal baby boomer keeping a watchful eye on the younger generation.

Where-in I ramble somewhat aimlessly about most anything that catches my interest or engenders my disgust. Politics, religion, widowhood, mental depression and living poor are fairly common themes here.

I just love the way all these restaraunt moguls are claiming they’re going to have to cut employees hours, raise prices, add a surcharge, on and on ad nauseum because—Obamacare.

I know a lot of restaraunt workers. Not surprising since in my hometown the majority of the population either works for the largest single employee in town (a hospital) or the most prolific “industry”, which around here is the restaraunt business. We may not have much else, but we’ve got eateries by the train car loads.

The thing I find most interesting about all the caterwalling from the owners of all these multi-million dollar businesses?

Of all the restaraunt employees that I know—NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS, NOR HAVE THEY EVER BEEN, A FULL TIME EMPLOYEE!

All sorts of news on the wires about conservative business moguls (large and small) throwing temper tantrums by laying off workers or cutting employees to part time hours “to prepare” for the disasterous future in store now that AFC won’t be repealed.

Belive it folks. Over night the whole world changed…financial Armagedon for business owners is at hand! They will all be out of business tomorrow if they don’t act today!

Business owners giving the proles an unmistakable message, “If America doesn’t vote for MY bests interests you will be made to suffer.”

Pathetic bastards with pathetic morals punishing the peons who got them where they are today for no other reason than to prove their own importance.

“It’s like the public just doesn’t want to believe anything else until it hits home. Until it’s their own child, brother or parent that got laid off when they were 58, until then, it’s not real.”

~Rand Corp. researcher Dr. Art Kellermann~

The last line in this AP article on Yahoo news pretty much says it all about conservative attitudes in America today.

The piece, authored by CARLA K. JOHNSON and KELLI KENNEDY speaks volumes about the I got mine, too bad you din’t get yours attitude of republicans when it comes to the poor. And it doesn’t matter if you work or not—no differentiation in their eyes. If you work and are poor you’re not working hard enough or smart enough. If you don’t work and are poor you’re trash.

And the republican governors of the five states who have refused to participate in the expansion of Medicaid under the presidents plan lead the way in callousness. Leaders who are supposed to be looking out for ALL of the people in their states are actually proud of their own jack-assedness when it comes to the poor.

And they love themselves some Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

I won’t do it you can’t make me!

I can’t help it, I can’t get rid of this little picture in my head of “grown men”, Jindal, Scott and Perry standing in the door of their respective offices stamping their wittle feets screaming, “I won’t do it, you can’t make me!”

Congratulations Louisiana, Florida and Texas…you’ve elected the equivilent of 5 year old brats to head you’re states. Sorry for your luck.
