If there’s any question why FAUX “news” wants to keep Benghazi front and center, this Facebook post from a very conservative former co-worker is the answer
ME You do realize no one watched this in real time don’t you? Do some fact checking hon.
SHE You might want to do some,(name). it will all come out in the end. ·
ME Already have, (name). It’s actually kind of fun. Try it. :)
SHE Like I said the truth will come out
RESEARCH? DON’T NEED NO STINKIN’ RESEARCH! Truth will out on its own…because… reasons!
This is the same facebook friend that commented “Fox News is the only one with a brain, all the others are in O’s pocket,” when I posted the zombies go hungry at FOX news cartoon on my Facebook wall.
The right and its propaganda network need these people fired up, but more imporatantly they need them ignorant and paranoid.

A concise summation of the foreign policy difference between Mitt Romney and President Obama in one simple sentence.
Popped over to my local Taco Bell for a burrito. Really pleased to drive past a bunch of Obama/Biden yard signs. Yay, neighborhood!
Smiling and humming behind the wheel. heh

Letters from right wing, mega buck Republican CEOs threatening employees with job loss if Obama wins re-election.
And thanks to the Citizens United (Corporations are people too my friends) ruling this voter intimidation method is perfectly legal.

Senior Republicans are pushing for votes in Congress to block the Obama administration from waiving some provisions of the nation’s landmark welfare-to-work law.
Waivers that were requested by, you guessed it, Republican governors.
Because Reasons.
Is there anything these SOBs won’t do to damage poor and low income people? ANYTHING?

Hurricane Isaac, due to make landfall in Louisiana in a few hours, has prompted an outbreak of unrestrained, furious hysteria—in Tampa, Florida.
The GOP is demanding answers from the Whitehouse. Obama has obviously coherced Mother Nature into upstaging the Republicans’ women/POC/LGBT/Muslim/poor/elderly convention hate fest that has taken months to plan.
It’s an OUTRAGE!

“It’s ironic that Mitt Romney is calling for additional meetings of the Jobs Council when he opposes the American Jobs Act, which incorporates their ideas,” Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith said in a statement. “The plan could put up to a million people back to work — including teachers, firefighters, cops, construction workers and veterans — help small businesses create jobs right now and encourage companies to bring jobs back to America. Instead of calling for more meetings, Mitt Romney should call on congressional Republicans to stop their obstruction and pass important legislation that will put more Americans back to work.”
Can we clone Obama spokesperson Lis Smith? Please?

just where the hell Obama got the idea that no man is an island?
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. ~~ John Donne, Meditation XVII
John Donne be damned, what does a 17th century English poet know about America anyway?
Real Amurikans pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.
Real Amurikans don’t need no stinkin’ help from anyone or anything, especially not that commie/solcialist government bunch.
Real Amurikans will suffer and sacrifice whatever it takes to get’er done.
Our self-denial must first of all be humble. Otherwise it is a contradiction in terms. If we deny ourselves in order to think ourselves better than other men, our self-denial is only self-gratification. ~~ Thomas Merton, No Man Is an Island.

and there’s these numeric codes…but only on certain parts.
And at first the posse didn’t understand the numeric codes…
But then Sheriiff Joe probed deeply into the 95 year old state worker’s brain—or listened to a taped interview—whatever…
And there it was! Proof that Barak Obama’s birth certificate was forged…
or maybe it’s a bunch of really gross looking brain cells on the end of a probe…

Oh dear God. My brother is going to have to go into overdrive mode to get every variation of this news posted on his FaceBook profile.
Although it’s hard to imagine how he can possibly beat his current record of one anti-Obama/anti-government post every two minutes in a 4 hour stretch.
Obama’s claim that we need to have the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes isn’t going to convince anyone that taxing the rich a little more is fair.
Why?
Because Americans have been convinced that taxes, by their very nature, aren’t fair.
There isn’t a single person in this country who doesn’t feel they are being ripped off by government, Federal, state and local, when they look at their pay stub or file their taxes.
Obama can shout “fair share” till the cows come home and the main response he will get from the vast majority of the people is, “ho hum”.
Those same people who know taxes aren’t fair, also see themselves as sacrificing every day to pay those unfair taxes.
WWII saw rationing and shortages of both necessities and luxuries. Everyone (at least in theory) sacrificed for the war effort. Is the war to right our economy any less worthy of shared sacrifice?
The Obama team needs to ask, again and again, “What have the rich sacrificed? What hardships have they suffered? Why should the wealthy be exempt from sharing in the sacrifice?”
It’s time to speak the truth. It’s not about paying a fair share.
It’s about shared sacrifice.
Regardless of the NC vote tally and the current kerfluffle over Obama announcing support for gay marriage, republican party insiders aren’t idiots. They know, and have known for a while now, that this issue is loosing its punch with all but the hard core christofanatics in their ranks. The homophobia punching bag is fast dwindling to the size of Bert the farting hippo of NCIS fame.

For every republican concocted boogyman that begins to shrink in stature there is always a replacement waiting to be inflated in the wings.
This presidential election cycle the newest monster under the bed is none other than—
Wait for it (needle inserted in valve, inflation in process) THE LAZY, UNEMPLOYED BY CHOICE, LACKING ANY TYPE OF WORK ETHIC, DOPE CRAZED, HOODY WEARING POOR that expect, no DEMAND, governement handouts because they really, really like living high off the hog on “your” hard earned money!
The US Census declared that in 2010 15.1% of the general population lived in poverty:
22% of all people under age 18
13.7% of all people 19-64, and
9% of all people ages 65 and older
Yeah—those guys! ^^^
Republicans don’t want to reduce poverty (and yes dear conservatives I am fully aware that not every republican falls into this catagory) because to do so would deflate another of their pathetic attempts to pin the blame for anything and everything that is “wrong” with America on someone other than themselves and their “make the rich richer if you please” philosophy.
I guess the 15+% of Americans should feel flattered to know we at least count for something in the eyes of the republican party—even if it is only to be their back up straw man.

Does anyone really believe that wingers would be asking for a birth certificate if Obama was white?
OK, so I admit it, I’m a bloody LIBRERAL guys. A few years ago I was a moderate, middle of the road type. My views haven’t really changed much in the intervening years truth be told, but the polar shift that passes for conservatisim these days caught me unawares it seems.
I now find myself in the position of being “one of those” when dealing with about 80% of my family members.
Would it be impolite of me to mention that amongst the more paranoid amongst the group anyone who doesn’t believe that the government is evil, Obama is a Socialist Satan, there is a war on Christianity and Facebook forcing members to accept the new timeline is the equivalent of the Holocaust automatically falls into the “one of those” category?
I kid you not! One of them actually asked if next we would just comply when told to pack our bags and get on the train in the midst of the announcement that they would be leaving Facebook!
Unsurprisingly, I was called to task for daring to post a comment (I was not ask to comment after all) that comparing timelines to the Holocaust seemed a bit hysterical to me.
sigh
I guess I should go pack my bags, the train should be pulling into the station any moment now.
