Louisiana governor appeals ruling on black supreme court justice

The dispute over whether (Bernette) Johnson should be the first black justice to head the Louisiana court has highlighted long-standing racial tensions in the state.

But it has nothing to do with race—no of course not. It’s all about state’s rights.

Just ask Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal.
