The Weaver's Web

Just an old liberal baby boomer keeping a watchful eye on the younger generation.

Where-in I ramble somewhat aimlessly about most anything that catches my interest or engenders my disgust. Politics, religion, widowhood, mental depression and living poor are fairly common themes here.

Remember when Mitt said

he has never paid less than 13% in taxes and if you add what he gives to charity it’s more like 20%?

Maybe charitable giving feels like a tax to ole’ Mitt since his church (like many others) deems a 10% tithe to be the proper amount to fork over in order to remain a member in good standing.

So think about this—Mitt never paid less than 13% in taxes. Taking that percentage as truth, if, as he claims, it goes up to 20% THAT WORKS OUT TO 7% IN CHARITABLE DONATIONS.

Maybe the real reason Mittens doesn’t want to release those tax returns is that his church will discover he’s been shafting them.
