The Weaver's Web

Just an old liberal baby boomer keeping a watchful eye on the younger generation.

Where-in I ramble somewhat aimlessly about most anything that catches my interest or engenders my disgust. Politics, religion, widowhood, mental depression and living poor are fairly common themes here.

Iowa “nice” doesn’t mean Iowa silence Mr. Ryan

Cherie Mortice is a retired school teacher and Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement (CCI) Action Fund member from Des Moines, IA.

She is one of the women Pual Ryan dismissed as “not nice enough to be from Iowa” at his first lone wolf outing.

Salon has her response to the treatment she and those with her received from “Mr. Nice Guy Ryan”.

So you understand, Congressman Ryan, and Governor Romney, that when I hear you tell a crowd that you want to ‘help the middle class to prosper’, by cutting off the lifelines these young people need to survive – food stamps, Medicaid, public education and yes, drug treatment, it makes my blood boil. It sends that Iowa nice thing just right out the window.

Well worth the read.
