Didn’t go to the food pantry today. Not just because of the extreme neck pain I’d suffer looking right to check traffic. No, I didn’t go because I still have some stuff left from last weeks trip since it’s still just me I’m cooking for. The fruit’s all gone and I’ll miss having that this week, but still plenty of bread stuff to be used up.
There won’t be any meat on the table. Nothing new there. Every week I check out the store ads looking for bargains in that department, a bargain being anything under $3 a pound. Not having much luck.
My blood pressure meds went up the last time I filled my RX. Have to figure that into the budget when my next Social Security check comes in.
All just part of livin’ high off the hog on the taxpayer’s dime don’t ya’ know. At least that’s how the GOP sees it. That’s how my conservative family members see it. All us senior citizens and poor folk milking them dry.
They’re just tickled pink with the Romney/Ryan ticket. Flooding Facebook with hosanna’s to the future saviors of their American dream. They’ll vote straight republican this November.
I have one consolation should their votes win the day—eventually they will be old too. Eventually they will wish they had the social safety net they voted against in November 2012.
